SUMMER 2018 ACTIVITIES

We are looking forward to an amazing summer for children, students, and families here at Real Life | LA! Our hope is that this summer gives your family opportunities to connect with each other, with other families, and to Christ. We've got a lot on offer -- camps, VBS, mission trips, and day activities -- and hope you'll make amazing memories along the way.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

KIDS: VBS is back for a second year, and open to kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade (as of Fall 2018). Each day includes fun activities, worship, games, snacks, small group time, and crafts. VBS is July 23-27, from 9am until 1pm daily. It will be held at the Foothill Vineyard, 100 E. Foothill Blvd., San Dimas.

LEADERS: If you're a student in 6th-12th grade (as of Fall 2018), college student, or adult, we also need your help! We need counselors/group leader, as well as help with crafts, games/recreation, snacks, audiovisual/tech, behind-the-scenes, security, and much more! 


 

ELEMENTARY (3rd-5th Grade)

  SUNDAY MORNINGS | 9:00AM &   10:30am   We offer elementary ministry classes at both of our summer worship services. We'll be studying how God has creatively made and designed us for a purpose. When you arrive at church, check-in with our registration table, and start in service with your family for worship. We'll dismiss kids after a few songs! Then you'll head outside to the patio where our fantastic small group leaders will be waiting to take you to your classroom.

MIDDLE SCHOOL (6th-8th Grade)

  KICKOFF BEACH PARTY JunE 13 | 1-9pm   We're kicking off the summer with a beach party, worship, dinner, and bonfire at Huntington Beach! We'll depart Glendora via coach/bus at 1:00pm, and return around 9pm. There will be beach games, swimming, sunset worship, and devotional. Bring a friend! Cost: $20

This event will be from 7-9pm, and includes swimming, dessert, Bible study, and sunset worship. Bring a swimsuit, towel, Bible, and a friend!    Cost: Free

We're hosting two summer pool parties for middle school students, one in June and one in July. This event will be from 7-9pm, and includes swimming, dessert, Bible study, and sunset worship. Bring a swimsuit, towel, Bible, and a friend!    Cost: Free

  SUNDAY MORNINGS 10:30am SERVICE   We offer a weekly middle school gathering at the 10:30am worship service. When you arrive at church, check-in on the iPads and join your family in worship. Then you'll be dismissed after announcements to join your friends on the patio.

  MS MISSION TRIP | JULY 29-Aug 2   Rising 7th-8th graders: We'll be partnering with a local church to feed the homeless at a local shelter, serve the elderly, sort donations at a food bank, and pass out hygiene supplies to homeless around the city. There will also be lots of fun activities like afternoons at the beach, surfing, water tubing on Mission Bay, beach bonfires, and great food.   HS SUMMER RETREAT | JUNE 7-9   Rising 9th-12th graders: Come kick off the summer with Real Life as we head to Santa Barbara, CA for a two-day retreat. We'll be staying at Santa Barbara Community Church, and spending two days having fun on the water, serving in the city, eating great food, growing in faith, and building community.  [Note: We'll depart for Santa Barbara after football practice on Thursday afternoon.]    Cost:  $125

HS SUMMER RETREAT | JUNE 7-9

Rising 9th-12th graders: Come kick off the summer with Real Life as we head to Santa Barbara, CA for a two-day retreat. We'll be staying at Santa Barbara Community Church, and spending two days having fun on the water, serving in the city, eating great food, growing in faith, and building community.

  CHICAGO MISSION TRIP | JULY 7-14   Rising 9th-College: We'll spend the first part of the trip at Doug Field's DYM Student Leadership Conference in South Bend, IN. Through worship, seminars, and speakers, we'll be learning about how God has called us to be leaders in the world today. The second part of the trip will include an urban immersion mission project in downtown Chicago. We'll also enjoy explore the city, eat great food, and enjoy time on the water.
