We are looking forward to an amazing summer here at Real Life | LA for children, students, and families! Our hope is that this summer gives your family opportunities to connect with each other, with other families, and to Christ. We've got a lot to offer -- camps, VBS, mission trips, and day trips -- and hope you'll make amazing memories along the way.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

KIDS: We are thrilled to host our very first VBS for Elementary children this summer. This event will be open to kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade (as of Fall 2017). Your kids will not want to miss the incredible week we have planned! VBS will run July 17-21, from 9am until 1pm daily. We will announce our location soon.

LEADERS: If you're a student in 6th-12th grade or an adult, we need your help! You can be a counselor/group leader, or help us in craft, games, recreation, snacks, audiovisual/tech, behind-the-scenes, and much more! 


 

ELEMENTARY (3rd-5th Grade)

5/6 BRIDGE EVENT | JUNE 9 If you're a rising 5th or 6th grader, we invite you to join our student ministry team on a fun day adventure! We'll meet at 11:30am at the APU/Citrus metro station, and take the train into South Pasadena for pizza, Bible study, and games at Arroyo Park. Afterwards, we'll grab ice cream at the Fair Oaks Pharmacy Soda Fountain. (Note: 5th graders will be picked up at 4:30pm at APU station. Rising 6th graders stay afterwards for a adventure with the student ministry leaders. Hint: Bring a bathing suit/towel.)  Cost: $20 (Early Bird, before May 15), $25 (Regular Rate, after May 15). Includes train ticket, lunch, ice cream, and t-shirt.

So grab your bathing suit, towel, and a friend... and make your way over to the Perone's (803 Oakwood).

COLORADO MISSION TRIP | JUNE 11-17 Rising 7th-8th graders: We will be serving with DOOR in the working-class Lincoln/La Alma neighborhood of Denver. Our group will stay at First Mennonite Church. We’ll experience inner-city issues such as homelessness, racial divide, and low-performing schools. Through a network of 30 ministries across the city, we’ll serve at a homeless center, adult day-enrichment facility, drop-in cafe, and children’s summer education program.

HS SUMMER KICKOFF | JUNE 1-3 We're going to kick-off the Summer 2017 season in style and glamour as we head to Palm Springs, CA for a two-day mini-retreat. Come hang out with us at the Marriott Resort Villas for two days of fun in the sun, lounging by the pool, mini-golf, exploring this desert Oasis, and growing in faith and community.  [This trip is open to rising 9th grade.] Cost: $150

This shall be facilitated through museum/church tours, visits with European missionaries, serving as leaders at a Christian kid's camp in the U.K., discovering the rise and fall of Christian theology, and learning how to share the Gospel in a post-Christian context. Rising 12th and College: Come with us to Europe to explore the scope of global, post-Christian ideology through a cultural serve/learn experience. This shall be facilitated through museum/church tours, visits with European missionaries, serving as leaders at a Christian kid's camp in the U.K., discovering the rise and fall of Christian theology, and learning how to share the Gospel in a post-Christian context.

Our students will be assigned to ministry crews serving in various locations throughout the city with students and adults from other churches across the US. We’ll gather each evening for worship and church group debrief/activities.  Cost: $550
